Loose Seal includes a very rough RTMP stream client, capable of retrieving the audio, video, and metadata streams for Flash Video. It is based on various documentation floating around on the net, all of which was the result of reverse engineering.
It is only minimally useful right now, as the streams are demultiplexed and cannot be played by themselves. The code is also quite dirty, as it is the result of an experiment that eventually worked. My plans for this are to use twisted to handle the communication, and enhance the client to produce useful video files (AVIs for example).
Note: The rtmpdump project provides a much better resource for this.
The latest version is 0.0.1. It was released on October 28, 2006.
