Games

This is a complete collection of the MegaZeux and ZZT games I have worked on. Most of these games were done entirely in a 24-hour period by a team of 3 for various competitions. In order to play them, you will need to download their respective programs:

If you don't know where to start, check out Captain Proton and the Reality Ripper, Max Overdrive in High Council Catastrophe, and Ray of H.O.P.E. Those are my top three.

dsmzx v01-SVNr314

Description
This is a port of MegaZeux to the DS. Extract it to the root of your flash card so the files are in /games/megazeux. Apply the appropriate DLDI patch. Gameplay works for medium-sized worlds (~500KB). Larger worlds will run out of memory and crash.

HexxagonDS alpha1

Description
HexxagonDS is a work-in-progress clone of the DOS classic Hexxagon for the Nintendo DS. The current version, alpha1, supports the basic gameplay mechanics for two human players. It works best if you have one stylus for each player. Planned features: play against the CPU and over the Wi-Fi connection, title screen and menus, gamepiece color customization, music and sound, and game board editor.

Captain Proton and the Reality Ripper

Description
This is the MegaZeux game that I'm most proud of. Created in only 48 hours, it actually approaches a fun, playable game. Guide Captain Proton (uh, a completely original superhero) through strange alternate dimensions to stop Doctor Electron's reality ripper. Lots of fun mini-games, a cool "timeline" world map, and an original soundtrack.

Max Overdrive in High Council Catastrophe

Description
Created in 24 hours, with the soundtrack composed in the last couple hours. Max Overdrive's latest (and only) adventure requires him to find the elusive Dr. Costan, a criminal wanted by the Mars High Council. This is an adventure/action game (first one, then the other) with lots of goofy references to geeky subjects, including 1999 topical humor—that Mozilla will never be finished! Ha ha ha!

Oh No! Not Another Star Wars Parody!

Description
The original MegaZeux Star Wars parody. What seems to make it a parody is that everybody has a funny name. Sure, it's well explored territory for Muppet Babies, but this is MegaZeux! It's got all-original music (with all-ripped samples), and a couple of scenes were designed in ACiDDraw. This might have nostalgic value for you, since it's among many MZXers' first games.

The Impetus Device

Manuel Manx in Afterlife Ahoy

Description
Manuel Manx wants to get into the eternal disco party in heaven. Help him get there by ending all nine of his lives! That was the theory, anyway. Despite having a week to work on this game, it does not get that far. Still, it has nearly all original music, great artwork, and some atrocious "German" voice samples by yours truly.
